The Cooper Union Faculty Resources

Applications for the following faculty resources are generally requested in the fall.

Benjamin Menschel Faculty Fellowships:

Curriculum development projects for the development of new courses involving collaboration between members of at least two of the four Faculties at The Cooper Union for courses open to all students. This fund was established by the Horace W. Goldsmith Foundation.

Awards of up to $5,000 per project.

Durbin Faculty Development Grants:

Support for development of innovative educational methodologies that advance the mission of The Cooper Union. This fund is a gift from Edward Durbin, an alumnus of the School of Engineering.

Awards of $3,000.

Dale Harris Fund:

Covers expenses for trips and visits that bring students into direct contact with the arts. This fund was established by outside donors in memory of a distinguished lecturer, writer and member of The Cooper Union Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences for more than 20 years.

Cost per trip up to $1,000.

Edward Sharp Burdell Awards:

Stipends to cover course and exhibition expenses for projects that study conjunctions of science and art. This fund is named for Edwin Sharp Burdell, Director and President of The Cooper Union from 1938 to 1960.

Awards of $1,000.
