Reciprocity

Informal reciprocity arrangements exist between members of the Association of Independent Colleges of Art and Design (AICAD). Reciprocity is only granted to those who are seeking career assistance in another state.

Through these arrangements, students or alumni of AICAD member schools may be granted access to specific career-related resources of other AICAD schools. This resource can be useful when one is seeking career assistance during the summer or when one is relocating to another state. Please note that these resources and access to them vary from college to college.

Students or alumni of the Cooper Union who are seeking reciprocity must request it through the Center for Career Development. A representative of the Center will organize reciprocity on the requester's behalf. (The student or graduate must specify which college they are hoping to access). If one is granted permission by an AICAD college, one can use their resources, and in exchange, Cooper will allow one of their students or graduates to use our resources.

The Cooper Union offers students and alumni of AICAD schools onsite access to job postings, use of the Career Resource Library, and access to a subscription of grants for individuals (on a limited basis). We do not offer critiques of application materials, because this service can be provided via e-mail or telephone by the college of origin.

The Cooper Union encourages students to explore the rich public content that is available through the Web sites of all academic and nonacademic institutions.
