Strong Interest Inventory

The Career Center offers free administration and interpretation of the Strong Interest Inventory, the most reputable and widely used career assessment that exists today. This tool measures your level of interest in occupational areas, activities, school subjects, and work environments, and then compares your interests with working professionals in a wide variety of occupations. The Strong is named after E.K. Strong, who developed the instrument in the 1920s after working with the military to place recruits in suitable jobs. Over the years, it's been revised a number of times to reflect the latest changes in the world of work and study.

To begin, contact us to gain permission and correct login information to take the Strong Interest inventory.

Then, enter the SkillsOne website.

You will need the Login and Password that your counselor provided you. At your first login, you will leave the User ID blank. You will define your User ID as you take your first assessment. If you need to return to the SkillsOne website in order to resume a previously started assessment, you will need to remember your User ID.

Within a week of taking the assessment, a career counselor will contact you to schedule a follow-up appointment to review your results.
